Well it seems that the rules thread pulled a vanishing act on us, so in its honor: Rules question thread 2.0 Ask away

Alright, nearly 2 pages of questions on progenetius in the rules thread has spurred me to post this. I ask grimmer and everyone else not to answer any more questions about protection from everything.

Here are the 4 things you need to know about protection from everything.

1) Progenetius cannot be targeted by spells or abilities. That means if the spell says TARGET creature or permenant it can't choose progenetius. If it never mentions target creature or permenant your golden (re: wrath of god kills him)

2) Progenetius is unblockable. Period.

3) All damage to progenetius is prevented. If you pyroclasm for example, you do not pass go, you do not collect 200 dollars and you do not deal 2 points of damage to progenetius.

4) Progeneius cannot be equipped or enchanted. If you have some way to move an enchantment or equipment to progenetius without targeting him you can but it will fall off as a state based effect. An enchanment would go to the yard and an equipment would just sit there and laugh at you for being an idiot.

Thats it, unless you have a specific question about the way protection from everything interacts in unique situations STOP ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT HIM.

For the love of god, someone sticky this, if I see one more question about protection from everything Im going to off myself. Comment on my Mono B rogues and my G/B combo decks please ;D

I have a question about Pillory of the Sleepless.
When I enchant an opponents creature, does my opponent take the 1 damage during the upkeep, or do I? no, you wouldnt lose life unless your opponent managed to redirect or move Pillory of the Sleepless off of their creature and onto one of yours. the "you" in PS's effect would apply to the owner of the creature. The reason "you" refers to the creature's controller in this case is because Pillory of the Sleepless grants the ability to the creature itself.

Pillory reads:
Enchanted creature has "At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 1 life."

If it instead read:
At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 1 life.

...then the "you" would be referring to the Pillory. In this case you (not the creature's controller) would lose the life. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

If i have Dralnu on the table, and uses his flashback ability to play research the deep, and win the clash, does research the deep go to my hand or is it removed from the game?

It is removed from the game.
The flashback does that when the spell leaves the stack for any reason, it is removed from the game instead. Moo.

afkaos: no, no spells are every destroyed, only permanents are. When a spell is removed from the game, it is put into the "removed from game" zone, which is a completely different zone than the graveyard.

theblackrecon: you have to have high ratings and lots of comments. rate and suggest things on others deck to get more comments/ratings on your own. leave constructive criticism and not just "Nice deck, rate and comment on my deck" because other people will just ignore you I'm a single cell on a serpent's tongue.

Okay, so, if someone hard casts Chronomantic Escape, and another person Reiterates it, the person who reiterated it also has a copy "removed from game" with 3 time counters on it? afkaos

Okay... This one is weird.
I have in play Lifeline and Where Ancients Tread. I play a Force of Savagery, and do 5 damage to my opponent. Since Force is 8/0,
does the lifeline bring him back into play at the end of turn? he would come back for a brief second and then go back to the graveyard unless you have something like glorious or gaea's anthem in play, or something that would give him a +1/+1 counter as he comes in play. otherwise he will be put in the graveyard as a statebased effect. comment on the deck "New Bant" and i will return the favor Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.

A copy of a spell in any zone other than the stack will cease to exist as a state-based effect. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

@ cwLOMA: Yes you can Reiterate a Chronomantic Escape. Reiterate doesn't say "copy target inst./sorc. with a target" but rather "copy target inst./sorc.". Since Chronomantic Espace is a sorcery, it is copied.
Just to sort out, Grimmer answered the time counter question:
"A copy of a spell in any zone other than the stack will cease to exist as a state-based effect. "
Which means, no, it won't get time counters and come bacl every now and then. Moo.

Its an evasive ability, like flying or shadow.
A creature with Horsemanship can only be blocked by creatures with Horsemanship Moo.

More specifically, horsemanship is exactly like flying, it is just adjusted for flavor in the portal three kingdoms set. Comment on my Mono B rogues and my G/B combo decks please ;D

So basically, horsemanship can block non-HMSHP, but non-HMSHP cannot block HMSHP
Okay, that makes it seem good...

But would that mean (like in casual play) reach can block it? Please view my decks! ~*~\<^>/~*~ http://www.mtgfanatic.com/Decks/?MemberID=66659 ~*~/<^>\~*~ Any/All comments are greatly appriciated! ~*~\<^>/~*~ I will return the favor! ~*~/<^>\~*~

No. Horsemanship is not flying... it just works in the same manner as flying. A creature with reach can block creatures with flying. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

ok here is a question, how would changelings work against each other with boldwyr intimidator in play. it says cowards cannot block warriors, since a changeling is both a coward and warrior, would it make changelings unable to block each other, or furthermore keep changelings from blocking warrior subtext creatures like bramblewood paragon. im just bored and wondering this comment on the deck "New Bant" and i will return the favor Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.
