Well it seems that the rules thread pulled a vanishing act on us, so in its honor: Rules question thread 2.0 Ask away

Alright, nearly 2 pages of questions on progenetius in the rules thread has spurred me to post this. I ask grimmer and everyone else not to answer any more questions about protection from everything.

Here are the 4 things you need to know about protection from everything.

1) Progenetius cannot be targeted by spells or abilities. That means if the spell says TARGET creature or permenant it can't choose progenetius. If it never mentions target creature or permenant your golden (re: wrath of god kills him)

2) Progenetius is unblockable. Period.

3) All damage to progenetius is prevented. If you pyroclasm for example, you do not pass go, you do not collect 200 dollars and you do not deal 2 points of damage to progenetius.

4) Progeneius cannot be equipped or enchanted. If you have some way to move an enchantment or equipment to progenetius without targeting him you can but it will fall off as a state based effect. An enchanment would go to the yard and an equipment would just sit there and laugh at you for being an idiot.

Thats it, unless you have a specific question about the way protection from everything interacts in unique situations STOP ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT HIM.

For the love of god, someone sticky this, if I see one more question about protection from everything Im going to off myself. Comment on my Mono B rogues and my G/B combo decks please ;D

No. They can still be targeted by things that target permanents. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

Can Progenitus be the target of Threaten? I'm sure you've covered Progenitus many times, but I've missed it. Mystical Tutor>>>>>Tinker>>>>>Darksteel Colossus>>>>>profit... (8*P

Threaten:
Untap target creature and gain control of it until end of turn. That creature gains haste until end of turn.

Since you can't target Progenitus due its Protection from Everything, then you can't Threaten him either.

Ok. Here's my questions. It says on Demigod of Revenge. when you play him return all cards to from your graveyard to your that are named Demigod of Revenge right? So would Child of Alara ability cancel that out or would i still be able to bring back dead Demigod of Revenge?

Child of Alara does not destroy the graveyard or the effects of creatures, so why not? MTG Lvl 1 Judge and one of your MTGFanatic Moderators! Birds of Paradise Count: 28

They have performed an illegal action and the game backs up to just before they tried to play the Aura Mutation. "Sacrifice" means to put into the graveyard from play. If you sacrifice the Gaea's Touch, it is no longer in play for them to target with Aura Mutation. You get the mana, he gets no tokens, untaps his mana, and returns the spell to his hand. No. Spells on the stack in the in-play zone only affect the in-play zone, if i'm not mistaken. ~Latest deck project: Memories of Blood. Any help would be appreciated.~ "Misery loves company. Idiocy loves attention."

Every (non-Unhinged/Unglued) card will specify that it returns to the owner's hand. WotC doesn't want to put one player's cards in the other player's library, hand, graveyard, etc. so they specify "owner" in all cases. There are two things that it helps to remember in this case.

First, an artifact in play will be referred to as an artifact. On the stack, it would be called an artifact spell. In any other zone it will usually be referred to as an artifact card. The same is true of the other permanent types as well.

Second, unless specifically stated, spells or abilities only affect permanents (i.e. objects in play). To affect an artifact card in the graveyard, it would specify "in your graveyard", for example. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

-- Wall of reverence --

Im playing an exalted deck with wall of reverence. But does this really work.

Does my creature still have all of the exalted bonuses when the walls ability gives me life? I assumed that since this ability triggered at the end of turn that it was basically 'made' for an exalted deck.

Thanks for your time.

Yes, wall of reverence will take into account the exalted bonus. Exalted wears off EOT and the wall triggers EOT and since they are simultaneously stacked, you choose the order in which they resolve. ~Latest deck project: Memories of Blood. >>>are there any mechanics that stack? For instance two lifelinks for double life(vampirism, spirit loop)

You may have multiple instances of any ability, but in many cases it is not noticable. Any ability that grants a trigger will likely "stack" as you mean it. (i.e. lifelink, flanking, bushido, venomous, exalted, etc.) Those that grant an ability that is either "on" or "off" will not be noticable. (i.e. flying, trample, shadow, etc.)

>>>Yes, wall of reverence will take into account the exalted bonus.

This is correct. The creature will still have the bonus when the Wall of Reverence triggers.

>>>Exalted wears off EOT and the wall triggers EOT and since they are simultaneously stacked, you choose the order in which they resolve.

This is incorrect. The bonuses granted by exalted last "until end of turn", so they will not wear off until the Cleanup Step of the End Phase. The Wall of Reverence triggers at the beginning of the End Step of the End Phase. The End Step is before the Cleanup Step. This is why you gain more life. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

according to General Magic Rules:

# 502.68b - If a permanent has multiple instances of lifelink, each triggers separately. [CompRules 2007/05/01] -PLEASE comment on any of my "underworld dreams control" deck or any of my other decks as I will gladly return the favour.

triggers separately? So if I have rhox war monk equipped with loxodon warhammer, and he deals damage to a player, I would gain 12 life? Supposing those are the only cards in play and there are no other activing effects

@rain.... well how bout this... A commander aesha with PRO-CREATURES cannot be hurt by a silklash spider's hurricane-like ability ( according to a LOMA ) he doesn't target either. In this case how would a pestilence work? A pro black creature is being dealt damage by the enchantment but it still isn't being targeted. Would that PRO-BLACK creature be dealt damage? I ask all these similar questions because they are always new situations during our casual games that I can't answer 100%.... Rate and comment on my decks. Some of them aren't completely terrible.
