Well it seems that the rules thread pulled a vanishing act on us, so in its honor: Rules question thread 2.0 Ask away

Alright, nearly 2 pages of questions on progenetius in the rules thread has spurred me to post this. I ask grimmer and everyone else not to answer any more questions about protection from everything.

Here are the 4 things you need to know about protection from everything.

1) Progenetius cannot be targeted by spells or abilities. That means if the spell says TARGET creature or permenant it can't choose progenetius. If it never mentions target creature or permenant your golden (re: wrath of god kills him)

2) Progenetius is unblockable. Period.

3) All damage to progenetius is prevented. If you pyroclasm for example, you do not pass go, you do not collect 200 dollars and you do not deal 2 points of damage to progenetius.

4) Progeneius cannot be equipped or enchanted. If you have some way to move an enchantment or equipment to progenetius without targeting him you can but it will fall off as a state based effect. An enchanment would go to the yard and an equipment would just sit there and laugh at you for being an idiot.

Thats it, unless you have a specific question about the way protection from everything interacts in unique situations STOP ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT HIM.

For the love of god, someone sticky this, if I see one more question about protection from everything Im going to off myself. Comment on my Mono B rogues and my G/B combo decks please ;D

Correct. With Boldwyr Intimidator in play, Changelings can't block Warriors and can't be blocked by Cowards. Since Changelings are both, a Changeling couldn't block or be blocked by another Changeling. They also couldn't block Bramblewood Paragon and such. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

Yes. Conspiracy creates a continous effect, one which causes the tokens to be of the correct creature type the moment they enter play. So those tokens would trigger the Aether Charge when the game checks itself and finds that the tokens do meet the requirement for Aether Charge to trigger. Can I opt to NOT remove a card from the game when playing Chrome Mox? If I do opt to NOT remove a card, will I still be able to tap it for colorless mana? Mystical Tutor>>>>>Tinker>>>>>Darksteel Colossus>>>>>profit... (8*P

You can choose not to remove a card, but you won't get colorless mana..you'll just have a pointless 0cc artifact in play haha

You also can't remove an artifact to get colorless mana.

One neat thing about Chrome Mox is that you can Imprint it with something like Reaper King and then take any of R, W, G, B, or U OR you can take two colorless mana!

I'm pretty sure this is the ruling for Chrome Mox... I'm a single cell on a serpent's tongue.

Actually you're partially incorrect CW. You're right about everything up to "imprint Reaper King." First, Reaper King is actually an artifact too and Chrome Mox says "nonartifact, nonland card." Second, it also only adds 1 mana (regardless of whatever the removed cards casting cost is).

Chrome Mox can, as you were alluding to, add more than 1 specific color if you imprint a multicolor or hybrid card (it still only adds 1 mana at a time though). My magic blog: http://theundergroundsea.blogspot.com/

I've got a question for ya... I've recently delved into Donate and Illusions of Granduer (it's called Trix or something, isn't it? Ever notice a lot of decks are named after foods/meals? Cephalid Breakfast, Quick and Toast... Lol). A friend of mine took the idea and used Phage the Untouchable and Donate in a deck.

Does that work? O_o; I didn't think that changing controllers made the permanent "come into play" again. If so, would Donating a something with a come into play trigger make the trigger occur (something like that one Swallower that gives all of your permanents to the opponent)? I'm not the most intelligent person on this site, but I'll sure as hell speak as if I am.

Just so you know, extended RDW is using Chrome Mox to great effect as a 'pointless' 0 cost artifact: it can be sacked to feed Shrapnel Blast. If you have an extra Pyrostatic Pillar or Sulfuric VOrtex in hand, it gets red.

Trust me, its good... Mystical Tutor>>>>>Tinker>>>>>Darksteel Colossus>>>>>profit... (8*P

Vincent: No, changing control doesn't change the fact that it is already in play. It wont trigger anything. Moo.

Also, if you managed to put Phage into play and have her ability trigger then gave it to the opponent before the trigger resolved, you would still be the player who lost the game... not the opponent. I killed your cat! (Why?) I felt it would bring closure to our relationship!

If a card says "target creature or player" it cannot hurt a planeswalker.
But what about a card that says "deals X damage to any one target" such as Goblin Grenade?

The oracle has it different (for that specific card) but with other cards that have it worded similarly, can you deal the damage to a planeswalker? I don't think there are any cards that have oracle text worded in such a way (deal damage to any one target). So you basically deal damage to either a creature or a player. Keep in mind that if you're able to damage a player from a spell or ability you can have the damage dealt to the planeswalker that player controls instead (which results in the loss of loyalty counters). Okay, that is basically what I figured, but I didn't go check the oracle wording on all of those cards I could find, but I was just wondering if there were any current that you could legally directly damage a planeswalker. Question: Glamerdye; Can I play it on a card that is on the stack???
Situation: I play wormweaver coil to target a green creature I have out, My opponent removes it (my only one) until end of turn, I want to play glamerdye to change it to "enchant red creature" so it is not wasted, and then sacrifice it to put a "red wurm creature token into play" instead of green.
Would that be possible? Please view my decks! ~*~\<^>/~*~ http://www.mtgfanatic.com/Decks/?MemberID=66659 ~*~/<^>\~*~ Any/All comments are greatly appriciated! ~*~\<^>/~*~ I will return the favor! ~*~/<^>\~*~

No to both, but for different reasons.

First situation: Spells on the stack are just that, spells. Before it resolves it is a creature spell, when it is in play it is a creature permenant and anywhere else it is a creature card. Glamerdye only hits permenants.

Second situation: Your coil is already targeting a critter as it is played. This all happens at the same time so the spell just fizzles if its target is removed.

Enchant creature (Target a creature as you play this. This card comes into play attached to that creature.) Comment on my Mono B rogues and my G/B combo decks please ;D

Glamerdye reads:
"Change the text of target spell or permanent by replacing all instances of one color word with another.(Retrace)"

So you can change the color of Wormweaver Coil, but it will still be countered upon resolution as rain says in the second. Spells don't change targets unless told to. Moo.

if I have deathbringer liege out, then play nip gwillion, I can only kill a tapped creature, I cannot tap, then kill the creature because the effects resolve at the same time right?

Deathbringer Liege has two abilities that may trigger when you play a black and white spell. You choose what order those abilities go on the stack. You can have the tap ability set on the stack so it resolves first, then have the destroy ability resolve. So yes, you actually can pull that off.
