get a bloodcheif ascension out and since most of the spells deal your opponent 2 damage it should ascend pretty fast. blightning will deal 7 damage and you'll gain 4 life please comment on my deck "blightning ascension" and i'll return the favor

yea no offense but this is a weak concept. things that deal with vampires are best left in monoblack or at the most 2 colours. so cut out the tome scour and at the most keep it to BR. comment on the deck "New Bant" and i will return the favor Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.

i like the mill concept...replace some cards with more burns ie burst lightning and since your playing blue might as well throw in a hedron crab or mind funeral...the great thing about bloodcheif ascension is its cheap and it stacks. great deck. 5/5 marshall

Thank you very much.
In my original ideas for the deck I was going to run 4 Lotus but Birds cost less and I have a ton of mana ramp as it is but if I can get my hands on 4 Lotus then you can bet I'll run them.

I like this idea it seems like it would work a lot except you might want to throw in some chump blockers since Bloodghast can't. I would take out the Tome Scour's and cut this down to B/R it'd be a little easier to manage.
Countersquall could be replaced with Bone Splinters and sac off your Bloodghast which he'll most likely be coming back next turn.
Tome Scour's I would replace with either a burn spell or Doom Blade or possibly some of those blockers I was talking about. Nighthawks are a real power hitter and should be probable enough for you to not worry about Milling them. However since they are so good they will become the Aggro card on your field more often then not which is why I say use some other creatures.
Surrakur Marauder is a nice card since they can't block him if you play your land so they have 2 choices when it comes to either bouncing a creature or burning one.
I'd give this deck a 4 just because I think the blue should be replaced with other things but it's your own preference.
Whatever is working for you in your local area tournaments is good enough. Please comment and rate my Valakut deck and or my Bushwhacker's Miny Assault. I shall return the favor. x.Herron.x

Hmmmm it's good to see no blue because that was just going to tamper with your mana pull. Focus more on 2 colors and it'll run well.
I still think that you should have more creatures in there.
You will get destroyed if your 60 card deck is only depending on 8 creatures.
If you have some more creatures to defend your field then you'd be good.
As I said though go by what's working for you.
How I would play this though is I would focus on creature destruction so 2 cards have to go the the grave so your Ascension hits them 2 times.
I would still probably drop out Burst Lightning and add in Bone Splinters.

5/5
More creatures to slow down weenie decks.
Replace Bursts with Splinters.
Find a way for at least 2-3 more lands. Please comment and rate my Valakut deck and or my Bushwhacker's Miny Assault. I shall return the favor. x.Herron.x

If you're finding a problem with speed you can look at either my soldier or vampire deck as well so far they're some of the fastest decks I've ever ran.
Maybe you can find some inspiration for creature frenzy lol. Please comment and rate my Valakut deck and or my Bushwhacker's Miny Assault. I shall return the favor. x.Herron.x

Nice mill!
Have you thought about using Burning Inquiry?
Sure you'll have to discard 3, but most of your spells are instants, and who cares if you drop a bloodghast. Just play a land and cast him for free. Please check out my latest decks; Naya Ramp, Blightning Ascension 2, and Polymorph Control. Help me, I'll help you! Thanks!

By the way.
I didn't mean to use your decks name. My Blightning Ascension goes an entirely different route, and uses Pyromancer Ascension, not Bloodchief. Please check out my latest decks; Naya Ramp, Blightning Ascension 2, and Polymorph Control. Help me, I'll help you! Thanks!

Hideous compliments the theme of the deck. Terminate.....meh, not so much. I think you should sideboard it and mainboard 4x Hollowing Banshees. 3/3 Flying and putting counter on Bloodchief when you cast her. Only 21 mana is extremely low. You'll run into consistency issues. That's what's keeping it from a 5.
4/5 Please rate my Anti-Jund, Maybe deck. There has to be a counter to Jund that isn't Jund.

I would run more mana...and trade hideous end for doom blade unless your having trouble killing your opponent. Mill does sound really cool, that's a fun idea. This advice may be a little controversial but, maybe run Bloodbraid Elf. Adding green may just be worth it for the one card. Please return the favor and rate my "Jozi's Oran-Rief Beatdown" deck.

I like it, but what if you never get your ascension, or someone destroys your ascension, or you only draw two creatures the whole game? Sure you can keep them at bay for a while with all your burning and destroying, but if you don't pull an ascension, and the game goes for a while, this deck looks kind of in trouble. I like the idea but maybe you can put in some diabolic tutor or something so that you end up with the ascension more consistently. -Please rate and comment on my decks, "Hank's Bant Allied," and "The Overlord"

I would recommend that you drop Punishing Fire to a 3 count and add in 2 more Relic of Progenitus to complete your sideboard. Other than that, looks good. 5/5

What is the Bloodghast doing here??? And, like Hank de Tank said, what if the Ascension never comes out, or just late in the game???
I give it a 4/5 because it has lots of removal and life burn, and also discard, but a combo deck always has a weackness: not getting the pieces together. Check out both my "Chandra's Habanero" and "Raging Flame Sprite Style" decks and help me decide which version will be more viable for a serious tourney. I will gladly comment back on your decks if you want me to.

bloodghast is here because he can basically keep coming back and doin 2 damage to help ascend the bloodchief ascension especially if im keeping their board wiped with my creature kill, and i've been able to win with losing an ascension just becuase of my creatures and spells, but i do see how another creature could be benificial? any suggestions? so far all i can think of is howling banshee which ekegren recomended please comment on my deck "blightning ascension" and i'll return the favor

Yeah, Bloodghast makes more sense like that, as long as the field can be kept clean of any blockers. Quest for the gravelord sounds nice, but it might take some valuable space on your deck... If you want the control of Terminates, you should splash some Quest for the Overlords since it will accelerate that and give you an additional win condition if Bloodchief doesnt make it out. Right now the Terminates do not compliment the theme. Im not sold on the bloodghasts: doesnt have haste (usually), you run below average lands (24 is the norm in most cases), and it's easily removed with any direct damage or removal and easily blocked. I made a deck similar (Blood Acension-Br Style); I've played it and the hollowing banshees really help out. Toughness 3 prevents vs. most direct damage including your own Fallouts. She's a solid beatstick and helps out to ascend. Sorry, still at 4/5 Please rate my Anti-Jund, Maybe deck. There has to be a counter to Jund that isn't Jund.
