This deck started out as a quest to abuse the Buyback mechanic on Walk the Aeons. What I found, however, is a potential Turn 1 (more likely, Turn 2) infinite lifegain cycle.

Fastbond, Zuran Orb, and Crucible of Worlds in play. Sac the land to Zuran Orb (+2 life), play it out of your graveyard using Fastbond's ability (+2 - 1 = +1), as allowed by Crucible of Worlds, sac it again (+3), play it (+2), sac it again (+4), repeat.

To execute on Turn 1, you'd need to have 4 lands, Fastbond, Zuran Orb, and Crucible of Worlds in hand. Land, Fastbond, play 3 other lands, Zuran Orb, Crucible of Worlds.

Wurmcalling for unlimited creatures of any size. Walk the Aeons for unlimited turns. Excavation for unlimited draws.

Voidslime to fend off Naturalizes and the like, Constant Mists to keep the heat off you damage-wise, Telling Time and Index to find the cards you need for the combo.

Nature's Spiral to get em back into your hand from your graveyard. Rate and comment on either "Kokusho Suicide" or "Feeling a Little Abusive?" or "Socialized Medicine" and i'll return the favor

This is pretty impressive.

Good job, looks very funny to play with.

I would change index with something, like brainstorm, or ponder.

But it looks good. Check my deck, "Fall And Flying Cards" and leave a comment I return the favor.

Darksuits, Void Slime is a sick card, but I need two sources of mana to play it. If I only have one type of land I'm abusing for mana, I'm screwed.

ACTUALLY I completely, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT, take that back - I need to have a forest out to play Fastbond anyway, so I'll be able to play both Counterspell AND Voidslime once an island shows up, making Voidslime the better card. Good call.

Compulsive Research is great, but only once the combo is active, cuz I can then play the discarded land out of my graveyard. I need Ponder to find the cards needed to ACTIVATE the combo. Thanks tho Dark, you've been a big help. Rate and comment on either "Kokusho Suicide" or "Feeling a Little Abusive?" or "Socialized Medicine" and i'll return the favor

Ok, I can definitely see the infinite life loop, but I can't see the infinite land loop for a monster wurmcalling...maybe I'm just missing it. Assuming it's in there, I would add braingeyser for the win. It's one of my favourite cards. Anyways man, thanks for rating my deck. Peace out. It's like 3 in the morning here, so maybe I'm just missing it. Peace. World up.

- Tap Land (Mana +2) (Life +1)
- Sac Land to Zuran Orb for 2 life (Mana +2) (Life +3)
etc etc etc Rate and comment on either "Kokusho Suicide" or "Feeling a Little Abusive?" or "Socialized Medicine" and i'll return the favor

I thought of something after my brain got finished hurting from thinking about this deck.

Add a Stripmine (keeps you type 1.5, but it's restricted, right?) to get rid of your opponents land... infinitely.

WOW! I really like the options this deck presents. I actually have all of these cards and never once tried these combos. Very impressive. Haves and wants will be added again soon once my inventory is updated. My email is jlm02a3094@yahoo.com if you want to work out a trade.

very nice deck. it's funny this week i've actually been toying around with a zuran orb/fast bond/crucible of worlds combo myself before I saw this. never got it right though. this seems solid.

i gave it a test drive and it worked nice and simple but was hard to play in the early stage, especially against aggro/burn decks. the problem i encountered was that you are forced to stall with constant mists and no mana to spend on ponder etc. while the opponent builts up his force and once he draws a removal card and destroys crucible of the worlds the game is pretty much over, either that or he just throws fire at you. i think you need something to take control of the early game so you can free up your mana for something else than constant mist/zuran orb etc. Maybe strip mine/wasteland? as someone else suggested and maybe throw in some black mana for 4x damnation as well? or some more control.

I would consider throwing out both walk the aeons for an extra wurmcalling and something else as it doesn't do much in the early game and once you get the infinite mana combo running it makes no difference what you spend it on anyway.

and instead of constant mists what about glacial chasm? - it's cheaper can't be countered and protects you from burn as well. Edit: wait I forgot that you need to sacrifice 2 lands each turn for it to work. nevermind then **

yea im sorry i have to detract its a so so deck nothing special. you call it an infinite deck i personally call it an if deck. If if get this out in time and if get this out too and if i get out this then im set. you are relying on 3 cards that need to be out at the same time for the combo to work. its just horribly inconsistent. you have the voidslime to help out but if you tap out for something like crucible then someone counters it you are screwed for another turn. there is a bad inconsistency with your lands, you need fetch lands, dual lands, something to get the right mix out. you use wurmcalling to fuel your creature needs but its a bad thing since you waste your time to put out a huge beast and its gone. I already know what you are going to say that I am wrong and im missing the point of the deck and you can pull it off. all im saying is there arent enough win conditions in the deck and you are throwing a hail mary. to make it better overhaul it and start it again Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.

I build a deck with the same idea a long time ago...but "Fastbond" gives you 1 damage for each other land played beyond the first one...so "Zuran Orb" doesn't really work for infinity, because fast bond gives you on the third land 2 damage and on the fourth land 3 damage.

Correct me, if I'm wrong. Believe it biatch, we are the leet.

Well wow. I logged back on to post a deck idea after two weeks, and I nearly shit myself to see one of my decks in the #1 spot. Thanks so much everyone for comments are ratings. Right, lets get cracking -

AdagioDolente - GOOD CALL w/ the stripmine, because this deck doesn't have enough infinite combos as it is =P. I'll throw 2 in, because I really won't wanna be reaching for a colored mana and draw stripmine and kick myself.

weirdsteve - You're right man. This isn't a deck that is gonna win any tournies, it's a fuckaround deck to mess up your friends' plans to get out their Progenitus. Half of my decks are like this (If decks, as you call em). IN FACT, you ragged on my last If deck, 1/1 Betrayal. It's a sketchy design, EASILY defeated if you know the trick, but it's good for a laugh the first time round. I wouldn't purchase the cards in real life, but it's a fun idea to roll around.

Kelson - HA! Lotus Cobra would be absolute overkill. I mean, if I can tap an infinite amount of mana (once the combo is up), why would I need Cobras? Good idea tho!

headlag - I believe you may be wrong on that interpretation. "1 damage for each other land played beyond the first" meaning that you take 1 damage for each land you play past the first one, it's not cumulative. 1 damage for the second one, 1 damage for the third one, etc etc. Rate and comment on either "Kokusho Suicide" or "Feeling a Little Abusive?" or "Socialized Medicine" and i'll return the favor

While I agree with weirdsteve I can't really put this deck down either. I mean really, this is the type of deck I would use for shit's and giggle's around my neighborhood. I'd play it to make everyone think I'm a one trick pony then when someone comes along to beat this deck, I'd pull out a completely different deck. All in all, I like the trickery of this deck and give it a solid 4/5. "As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end." Bob Marley - One Love Please check out my decks. If you comment or rate them I WILL comment or rate your deck(s) of choice.

Yeah, this is why Fastbond got the ban hammer early in magic. When Zuran Orb was printed, they realized they made a HUGE mistake. Having no limit on the number of lands you can play is nasty. :D

I'm not gonna throw any negativity at you or criticize the deck for being casual. I'm just going to make a few suggestions that I think will help you assemble your combo so you don't have to cheat shuffle so much. Do ya thang and be proud! But I think both you and your opponents will have more fun if the deck comes together more consistently :)

+4 Misty Rainforest (helps smooth our your manabase)
+4 Terramorphic Expanse (same)
-4 Forest
-4 Island

-3 Nature's Spiral
+3 Regrowth (strictly better, lets you reuse anything)

+4 Brainstorm (best common draw spell in the game.. and it's REALLY good with fetchlands to reshuffle those 2 cards you don't want back into your library so you see better ones)
+4 Impulse (also a fantastic draw spell!)
-4 Excavation
-4 Telling Time

-2 Walk the Aeons
+2 Moment's Peace (more fog effects... fogs are basically extra turns for you, except they cost WAY less mana to cast!)

Basically, the tough thing when playing will be to get the combo together, since it involves 3 distinct cards (good luck drawing them if you let your opponent shuffle your deck!!!) So you want lots of cards that help you get to the combo, either by drawing you into it or by protecting you from enemy creatures to buy you some time.

Cards like Walk the Aeons and Excavation are only good if parts of the combo are already in place. That doesn't help you if you don't have the right cards out, and I'm sure it could get very frustrating to play in situations like that! Once you have the combo, you win anyway. You're at arbitrarily high life. So cards that are good post-combo (e.g. Wurmcalling, Walk the Aeons, Excavation) are basically gravy. Sure, they're fun, but they don't help your deck work when it otherwise wouldn't, they just help you win when you already have won. Know what I'm sayin? I'd keep Wurmcalling just because it's awesome!! But some of the other stuff could go.
