v.4.0
After about twenty games with my inept Kithkin Militia Redux II: Reinforcements (originally based on the Kithkin Militia Redux and the Kithkin Militia pre-built deck, respectively), I have cannibalized the deck and began thinking about card synergy; that is, how I can accomplish the following criteria:

- To have 24 lands
- To minimize land damage by Basic Land destruction (i.e. by Sundering Titan)
- To have a decent amount of weenies in case of a weak/low initial mana start and/or shuffling contigencies
- To have a decent amount of powerful attack Flyers
- To attempt to take powerful opponent attack cards out of play even when playing against a powerful countering deck (i.e. putting enough quick tricks in so that the opponent runs out of various countering cards)
- To attempt to cleverly distribute damage and prepare for defence using tapping abilities
- To maximize creature/artifact/ability cooperation
- To have a cool theme ;)

This is my attempt at fulfilling these criteria. I have attempted to make the deck as balanced as possible (i.e. no "one-off" cards and 2 cards max. for high mana requirements).

This deck incorporates suggestions by wierdsteve and Slayer Red.

v.4.1 Changes:
- Against my own "one-off" policy, I have replaced one of the Yosei cards with a Konda card. Both are inredibly useful, but both have high casting costs.
- I have replaced the 2 Beacon Hawk cards (1/1, 2 mana +options) with 2 Mirror Entity cards (1/1, 3 mana +X/X & all creature types until the end of turn). Maybe they will synergize with the deck better.
- I'm still unhappy about Patron of the Kitsune, because I need to have at least 2 foxes that I would be able to sacrifice, but I don't yet know what I will take out of the deck.

v.4.2 Changes:
- I have reconsidered rejecting my "one-off" policy. Having only one Konda card and one Yosei card would mean that the chances of drawing either would be incredibly low, so I took out one Yosei card and put in one more Konda card.
- I decided that the 2 Mirror Entity cards are useless in this deck, because I can't really use them for any combos and because they give X/X and not +X/+X (which is a *big* difference); I have replaced them with 2 more Patron of the Kitsune cards.
- I have taken out the 2 Kabuto Moth cards and put in 2 Kitsune Dawnblade cards for the Patron of the Kitsune combo.
- I have taken out the 2 Kami of the Honored Dead cards and put in 2 more Kitsune Dawnblade cards; not only do they help the Patron of the Kitsune, but they also tap target creatures when they come into play.

The mana curve of this deck is almost perfect right now. My only concern is that I don't have any one-mana cards.

1 mana = 0
2 mana = 4
3 mana = 10
4 mana = 8
5 mana = 6
6 mana = 4
7 mana = 2

wow yet again man you have a nice deck here. i noticed you said that you were looking for a way to keep pumping out weenies, look at the combo of isochron scepter with raise the alarm. it will allow you to continuously put out 2 1/1 creature tokens, with glorious anthem or 2 out you get 2 2/2 or 2 3/3 every turn if you chose to. looks like you have enough control here to stave off for what you need later on. good job another 10 Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.

Mhumm. This is interesting. I don't fully understand the mechanics of Imprint yet, but does it work something like when the Instant is removed from the game, the Artifact *becomes* the instant (i.e. gains its properties)...and then, for two mana, plus tap, I can play a copy of it for free.

See, this is very intriguing, but the problem is, again, that I'm playing against an extremely strong countering deck, whose controller can just keep Disenchanting or Arcane Denying my artifacts, right? This would mean that I would have to have four Isochron Scepter cards, and four Raise the Alarm cards. In turn, this would mean that I have to either get rid of some actual creature cards or Crib Swap and Oblivion Ring - which I need a lot of, since they help me *tremendously* against, let's say, a deck full of Serra Angels, Serra Avengers and Witch Hunters.

Maybe I'm missing the point, though...what are your thoughts?

imprint is when it comes into play you put another cards ability on it. Essentially think of it like this: Isochron Scepter can come into play as is but it wont do anything, but if you put Isochron Scepter into play and its imprinted with the ability of lets say Raise the Alarm, it now can pump out weenies. This also works with any instant card of converted mana cost 2 or less such as Naturalize, Terror, Counterspell, or Boomerang. The good thing about imprinting is that you do not need to keep mana of the imprinted card in your deck to use it. An example of this if you choose can be found in the deck Black/Artifact Control in me collection. There are 2 Counterspells and 2 Boomerangs in an all black deck, but with Iso i can still use them. As for how many you put in there, the thing that you will learn as you progress is that no deck is completely prepared for everything, even a Tolarian Academy Deck, again no offense look at the deck The impossible to build deck in me collection to gain an idea, can even be beat. the trick is not to rely on solely 1 or 2 cards to win the game but to have fall backs on fall backs to win the game, just think about it for a bit Iron Chef Mtg Competitor, come stop by the thread and see what is cooking on the site, lots of fun to be had!----------------------------------------------------- The angle of the dangle decreases with the sag of the bag, and increases in proportion to the heat of the meat compared to the mass of the ass and the beauty of the cutie.
